Brisbane Billycart Championships - preparation and setup

The Brisbane Billycart Championships are on Sunday 18 August, so today saw Damian, Tricia and their boys head down to the Carindale Recreation Reserve in Cadogan Street Carindale, to help the members of the Rotary Club of Carindale with the setting up of the course, starting ramps, bunting etc...

In addition to this, Damian, who is the MC for the Billycart Championships, worked through some of the communication protocols and runsheet...

Shoving hay bales around...

Lining them up...

Looking pretty good from this angle!!

Jordan points out a kink in the track...

Helping to assemble the starting ramps...

Someone tall to grab the rope for the main banner... Damian is just the man for the job!!

The kiddies starting ramps being manhandled into position ready for assembly...

Aidan testing out a modified cart...

That was a success, so time to test out a traditional cart...

Off he goes!!

And OFF he goes!!

Tracks back in place...

Inspecting the freshly painted starting ramps and track...

Jordan having a test of a traditional cart...

Going good so far!!

And crash!!

Enough fun, more painting to be done...

Jordan using the roller...

Go carts in the pit area...

Tricia supervising the painting...

With the setup pretty much done and dusted, Damian, Tricia and the boys headed home to rest up, ready for the huge day that is going to be the 2013 Brisbane Billycart Championships!!

Be there, or be square!!  You can sign your kids up on the day, borrowing a cart if you don't have your own, so come one, come all and make this a huge and successful event!!
